HR Officer (Employee Relations)

This could be the perfect role for someone looking to hone their ER skills to an advanced level and could be part time 2 – 3 days per week or full time.  We’re looking for an HR Officer who loves ER work to undertake the most interesting aspect of ER – to conduct investigations & create usable reports on behalf of our clients.

 

If you’re reasonably flexible to travel to client sites, we can offer you the chance to work with a range of industries – we support everything from cutting edge pharma to celebrity chefs, private equity to charity. We have more than a hundred clients of varying sizes and as HR Officer you’ll work with them all, building your knowledge and sector experience as you go. Longer term you might want to progress to one of our ER Advisor positions, or a more generalist remit.

In this role you’ll manage investigations, producing high quality reports we can rely on to conduct hearings. As you will already know, any HR/ER process can only be as good as the investigation, and this is the part our clients most often need quality assistance with.

 

We’re looking for people who could come from a wide variety of HR backgrounds – experienced HR officers, case managers, business partners, even ex employment lawyers might like to undertake these interesting assignments. Irrespective of background, to succeed in these positions you must:

 

  • Live an easy car commute to Maidenhead (we’re in Bray village)
  • Be prepared (and able) to travel
  • Have a thorough understanding of HR procedures and plenty of case management experience (investigations/hearings)
  • Have experience of advising or coaching line managers
  • Be confident and highly articulate – in writing and on the phone
  • Have a driving licence & access to a car and be able to travel
  • Be available at reasonably short notice to undertake client site visits (though some work can be done from the office)
  • Ideally be a graduate and have relevant professional qualifications

IT Support Coordinator – Windows, SQL

Our client, an innovative travel technology company based on Cheshire are looking for an IT Support coordinator to drive its deployment of best-of-breed solutions that set new standards in today’s application-rich, highly mobile world of travel.

 

As the IT Support Coordinator, you will provide telephone and email support to our in-house developed corporate booking tool, which will involve troubleshooting/fixing problems, and raise development logs for issues confirmed as bugs, detailing steps to recreate the problem. You will give timely and courteous support to customers,  and manage logs that have been passed to other teams. You will regularly test and replicate bugs and look for ways to reduce log intake. You will work with both in house and third party suppliers to solve customer issues.

 

To be considered you must have:

  • Proven experience working in a technical support role, preferably with a web system

  • Exposure to Windows and Windows based desktop applications

  • Experience with different web browsers

  • Experience with SQL

 

It would be advantageous to also have:

  • Experience in Linux beneficial

  • Knowledge of the Travel Industry, in particular Corporate Travel

  • Experience with a GDS system (e.g. Sabre, Grobleo, Amadeus)

Head of IT

A leading private equity group based in the heart of Surrey is seeking a Head of IT to manage the IT infrastructure and delivery of key technology migrations for their UK and USA locations. 

 

As the Head of IT, you will be the owner of all technology strategies, information systems and digital development across the group.  

 

A dynamic mindset is required in this fast-paced, high-energy business. You will identify the tools required to enable your colleagues to deliver the extremely high standards required by the Company. You will be dealing with all levels of seniority across a range of technical abilities.


Key objectives/responsibilities include:

  • Managing the selection, implementation, development, monitoring, maintenance and upgrading of all IT systems this growing business.  This includes central infrastructure and desktop support.
  • Developing IT policies and procedures to ensure security (cyber and physical) and business continuity. 
  • Analysing the business requirements of all departments to determine the technology required to achieve the objectives set by the Group Board and making recommendations to the Group Board for upgrading systems as required.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers, including negotiating prices and analysing spend against budgets.
  • Managing one team member in the UK and (currently) outsourced providers in the US.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience as a senior Manager or Head of department.
  • Experience of overseeing all IT functions, ideally across multiple offices.
  • A proven track record in the implementation of new IT systems and policies.
  • Project management & delivery experience
  • The ability to manage and motivate people
  • A customer focus with an ability to communicate with all levels in an organisation.
  • A solid technical background in Microsoft technology
  • And ideally, experience with Salesforce

Senior Java Developer/Tech Lead

Our client, a well established and globally developing AI company focused in the healthcare and life science market are looking for a Senior Java Developer to work on its award winning, innovative platform. The platform transforms textual content into rich, connected data used for business intelligence, machine learning and search.

 

You’ll be joining at an exciting time as we develop our new semantic platform and you will play an important role in making this vision a reality.  You'll get huge exposure to the entire SDLC, from architecting a greenfield system to cloud or on-premise deployments.

 

Key duties include;

  • Working at a tech lead level
  • Developing new components for the platform for solving problems with large volumes of text-based data 
  • Developing rapid prototypes to test potential approaches in areas such as text mining, machine learning, graph technology, or others suited to your skill set
  • Working with customers and partners to integrate multiple APIs in data workflows
  • Testing and documenting
  • Working with offshore teams
  • Customer support for deployments and bug fixes

 

The successful candidate will have;

  • Full stack experience
  • Recent hands on experience of developing and deploying Java 8 solutions
  • Systems Architecture experience
  • Tech leadership/mentoring experience
  • Understanding of the Java ecosystem, knowing what tools to reach for etc
  • The ability to design and build unit-tested, modular code and deploy and run it on Linux servers locally or in the cloud 
  • Experience of designing and building RESTful APIs in Java

Experience of the following would be beneficial;

  • basic web front end experience using JavaScript and libraries such as Angular

Python Developer

Java DevOps Lead – Java

Our client, a well established and globally developing AI company focused in the healthcare and life science market are looking for an ambitions Java DevOps Lead to work on all aspects of the SDLC but with an emphasis on operational aspects.  This will include wide ranging tasks such as feature coding in Java, deploying solutions to the cloud and maintaining things like Jenkins servers.  The main emphasis is deployment and infrastructure. 

 

Key responsibilities will be: 

  • Developing Java 8 on a variety of projects, mainly in the text-mining and ML space.  These projects can be REST-services backed by semantic search systems, or simpler command line apps on a MapReduce framework.  It’s wide ranging with close ties to data scientists.
  • Modifying and building new deployment methodologies as required.
  • Deploying n-tier applications on client sites and on the cloud.
  • Working to deploy systems on a wide variety of target architectures.  Eg. Elasticsearch cluster management, NGINX proxy configurations, firewall configurations.  
  • Managing CI/CD systems 
  • Delivering exceptional customer support at all times

 

The successful candidate will have experience of:

 

  • Cloud providers, eg. AWS, Linode, GCP
  • Management of CI/CD systems, eg. Jenkins
  • Linux admin and shell scripting
  • Proxy server configurations for security and load balancing, eg. nginx

 

It will be beneficial to also have:

  • Understanding of big data technologies such as Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem
  • Experience of Docker - creating and deploying images
  • Scripting ability in Python or similar

Clinical Support Consultant

Our client, one of the largest suppliers of medical equipment solutions in the world providing the latest technology, with a service and support package the envy of the industry, is looking for a Clinical Support Consultant to provide direct support to the sales team in pre-sales activities and ongoing customer support.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the service and sales teams to provide clinical support to the post sale installation process
  • Liaising with the installed base users to develop and maintain excellent customer relations, identify training requirements and troubleshoot any problems arising
  • Co-ordinating and resolving configuration changes or issues on-site
  • Coordinating and carrying out software upgrade requirements on-site
  • Liaising with the service team on all customer support requirements and act as a bridge between the sales team, service team and customers
  • Supporting pre-sale customer trials tender responses, presentations, demonstration days and exhibitions
  • Supporting the installation process and the Clinical Training Manager
  • In conjunction with service department form part of the out of hours on-call rota

 

The successful candidate will;

  • ideally be degree qualified in a relevant field

The role encompasses fault diagnosis and resolution in support of incident and problem management. It also includes configuration and potential lab work to pre-stage equipment followed by implementation at client sites throughout the UK and in mainland Europe.

The portfolio of equipment to be supported will include Avaya CS1K, Meridian all options, CallPilot, CC6, AACC products and Avaya RED UCM/SMGR, Session Manager, SBC, Communication Manager, Aura Messaging, Presence Server, Conferencing Server, One-X Attendant

The successful candidate will have:

  • A HND/degree level qulaification in engineering or a related field
  • Manufacturer accreditation and/or maintenance & installation CPD
  • 5+ years’ experience working in the unified communications industry in a similar role
  • A comprehensive understanding of the issues involved in working in the service industry, particularly customer service
  • Experience of delivering a technical support function
  • A proven track record in a technical support/fault finding environment 
  • The ability to form close working relationships with customers and sub-contractors
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • A formal support apprenticeship would be a distinct advantage but is not essential
